Northwest Iowa — HTC Communications customers in northwest Iowa were without the company’s cable tv, cable internet, and landline telephone service from late Friday night until sometime Saturday.
Dave Raack of HTC says they know what the problem is, but not what happened for sure. Raack says they assume that lightning struck their system somewhere that caused a power surge, burning out three of his company’s four rectifiers.
Raack says his technicians worked on the problem, and got HTC’s services back online early Saturday afternoon, after being off for about 16-hours.
Raack says they have new equipment ordered to replace that which was burned up, causing the system failure.
He says HTC strives to provide quality, dependable tv, internet, and landline phone service to their customers, but once in a while a situation like this occurs, that is beyond their control.
Raack thanked HTC subscribers for their patience and understanding.
