IDPH Says Three New Cases Of COVID-19 Here

Northwest Iowa — Only three new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the four northwesternmost Iowa counties on Monday, according to the Iowa Department of Public Health.

There were no new cases in Lyon or O’Brien counties, two in Sioux County, and one in Osceola County. Nearly twelve percent of northwest Iowans have tested positive for COVID since March 2020.

The death toll for the area remains at 155 since the pandemic began. The death totals are 54 in O’Brien County, 57 in Sioux County, 33 in Lyon County, and eleven in Osceola County.

Out of the 1,401 Lyon County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 1,212 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 87%.
Out of the 4,599 Sioux County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 4,224 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 92%.
Out of the 1,711 O’Brien County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 1,526 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 89%.
Out of the 648 Osceola County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 599 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 92%.

It looks like we’re seeing a slight rise in the number of people who actively HAVE COVID-19. Osceola County currently has 38 active cases, up six from last week. There were 131 in O’Brien County, which is up three from last week. Sioux County has 318 active cases, which is up seventeen. Lyon County has 156 active cases, which is up eight.
