Statewide Iowa — This Saturday, December 1st, is the opening day for Iowa’s medical cannabidiol dispensaries.
According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, Iowa’s dispensaries are: MedPharm Iowa, located at 5700 Sunnybrook Drive in Sioux City; Have A Heart Compassion Care, at 3615 9th Avenue in Council Bluffs; MedPharm Iowa, at 7229 Apple Valley Drive in the Des Moines suburb of Windsor Heights; Iowa Cannabis Company, at 1955 La Porte Road in Waterloo, and Have A Heart Compassionate Care at 2222 E. 53rd Street in Davenport.
The only medical cannabidiol products legal for sale and use in Iowa as of December 1, 2018, will be those products that are manufactured in Iowa and sold at one of the five dispensaries listed above.
Iowa has two licensed medical cannabidiol manufacturers – MedPharm Iowa, LLC and Iowa Relief, LLC. All five dispensaries are required to make products from both manufacturers available to Iowa patients and primary caregivers as soon as products from both manufacturers are ready to be sold.

Products manufactured by Iowa Relief will not be available in dispensaries on December 1st, since Iowa Relief is still in the process of building its manufacturing facility. It is anticipated that more information about Iowa Relief’s product line will be available early next year.
