ISP Offers Tips For People Travelling To The State Basketball Tournaments

Northwest Iowa — If you’re State Basketball Tournament bound, whether for the Girls Championships this weekend, or the Boys State Tournament next week, the Iowa State Patrol has some reminders for you.

We know that everyone wants to show their support for their school’s team, but Trooper Kevin Krull reminds you to not block your vision showing that support.

Trooper Krull says you should allow yourself ample travel time to get to Des Moines for the games.

When travelling to the State Tournament, Krull says that, as always, you need to avoid distracted driving.

In addition, the Iowa State Patrol reminds you to pay attention to road conditions and put your winter driving skills to work. And, they add, don’t forget to buckle your seatbelt.

Krull says troopers will be out in force throughout the tournaments, enforcing the traffic laws to help make sure you get to the game safely.

The Iowa State Patrol urges you to have a great time supporting your team as they compete in the State Basketball Tournaments, but also remind you to drive carefully going to, and coming from, the tournament games in Des Moines.
