Sheldon, Iowa — We’re in the middle of Celebration Days in Sheldon, with activities going on for several days.
Sheldon Chamber Director Trista Kavanagh says one of the things going on this Saturday is the mini-rod tractor pulls, about a mile north of the Casey’s on Washington Avenue.
A new activity this year is the “bean bag” or “Cornhole” tournament, says Kavanagh. That’s this Saturday too.
One of the featured activities on Sunday morning is a community worship service at the RiseFest grounds.
Sunday afternoon will see an event called “Time on the Trail.”
The classic car cruise will be on Sunday evening, as will the burnout contest. You’re invited to bring your lawnchairs. There will be a DJ and food trucks at the start and finish line for the car cruise at the Eagles Club.
Monday’s events will include a fly-in pancake breakfast and aircraft display, arts & crafts in the park, the veterans’ opening ceremony, the classic car show, the parade, a farmers’ market, food booths, laser tag, inflatables, tiny tot town, and kids crafts.
