James Craig To Take Over Reins Of Sibley-Ocheyedan Schools

Sibley, Iowa — Sibley-Ocheyedan Superintendent Bill Boer is retiring on June 30th. And taking his place at the helm will be a man who is currently a principal at a southwest Iowa school district.

James Craig is the high school principal at Southwest Valley High School in Corning, Iowa. He tells us how he and his family feel about moving to the Sibley-Ocheyedan School District.


Mr. Craig and his wife have a 10-year-old daughter, a 9-year-old daughter, and an 18-month-old. He says his the 10-year-old and the 9-year-old are excited about moving to Sibley.


Craig says his first year as a superintendent will be a year of listening and becoming a part of the community. He says he’s looking forward to leading a district that is “financially in a good position, and with staff that are committed to making sure that we stay there.” He says that to him, leadership is about being a servant.
