Sheldon, Iowa — The deadline for spending your Sheldon Merry Money is coming up soon.
Merry Money is sold one day only every year at the beginning of the Christmas shopping season, and is brought to you by the Sheldon Marketing Committee and the merchants that accept Merry Money. Sheldon Chamber Director Shanelle Matus reminds us it DOES have an expiration date.
She says she hates to think of the fact that someone could put it away in their wallet and forget about it until after the deadline, and then not be able to spend it.
The Sheldon Chamber reports that $125,310 worth of Merry Money was purchased this year. At last report, $30,910 still needs to be spent in the next few days.
Again, the deadline for spending your Sheldon Merry Money is this Saturday, Christmas Eve, December 24th.
