KIWA Offering $1500 Scholarship – APPLICATION DEADLINE IS FRIDAY

Sheldon, Iowa — If you or someone you know is a high school senior headed for college in the fall, here’s information on a scholarship opportunity from your friends at KIWA Radio.

As we have in the past, Sheldon Broadcasting Company Inc. / KIWA Radio will award one $1,500 scholarship to a graduating senior who meets our requirements.

KIWA officials tell us the intent of this scholarship is to encourage and support the continuation of music education and radio broadcasting. As such, KIWA encourages students who will be majoring in radio broadcasting, communication or journalism, musical education, and/or songwriting or music composition to apply. They tell us it is not a needs-based scholarship.

The person who receives the scholarship must attend a high school in O’Brien, Sioux, Lyon, or Osceola counties. They must achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.5 in high school and be a high school senior in good standing. They must major in the fields we mentioned and must do so as a full-time college student.

KIWA says recipients will be notified of their scholarship award by phone or email no later than May 10th. They say the scholarship money will be disbursed directly to the recipient’s college prior to the start of the second semester. By submitting a scholarship application, the applicant verifies that all information supplied is true and accurate. The applicant also agrees to have his/her information used for promotional purposes.

Submit a completed application, postmarked no later than March 17 to:
