KIWA Radio and the Community Blood Bank are teaming up again to host a pop-up Blood Drive on Friday, July 17th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at KIWA Radio, located at 411 9th Street in Sheldon.

All blood types are in immediate need. All blood donors must have an appointment to donate, due to policies associated with COVID-19.

“Community support is vital to the local blood supply. It is important to know that the blood that is donated with Community Blood Bank is from your friends and neighbors in this region,” states Ken Versteeg, Executive Director, Community Blood Bank.  “We are grateful for the opportunity to serve Sheldon area patients and encourage the community to help us by donating on the bloodmobile when it visits Sheldon.”

Sanford Sheldon Medical Center blood needs are supplied by Community Blood Bank. Community Blood Bank has been the sole provider of blood and blood product for Sanford Sheldon Medical Center for over 17 years.

Donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 years old with signed parent consent form), weigh 110 lbs or Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form found at www.cbblifeblood.org) weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good general health.  Donors exhibiting cold or flu symptoms are unable to donate.  A valid identification is required at the time of registration.  It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluid prior to donating blood.  With policies associated with addressing COVID-19, donors with appointments will only be accepted at these blood drive events.
