Lake Park Man Sentenced In Osceola County On 2020 Firearms Charge

Sibley, Iowa — A Lake Park man has pled guilty and been sentenced in Osceola County on a felony firearms charge.

According to authorities, 34-year-old Daniel Wingert, of Lake Park, pled guilty Thursday to a charge of Possession of a Firearm or Offensive Weapon Being Subject of Protective Order, a Class D Felony in connection with an incident dating back to July of last year.

The judge in the case pronounced sentence Thursday, as well. Wingert was sentenced to a 5-year prison term, with all time suspended, along with a 2-year period of formal probation to the Iowa Correctional Services. He was also ordered to pay a $1,025.00 fine and 15% crime services surcharge.
