Law Enforcement Out In Force This Weekend

Northwest Iowa — Memorial Day Weekend is often thought of as the start of the summer season, and it also will see a steep increase in the number of vehicles on the road. If you’re heading out and about this weekend, remember to drive with care.

Law enforcement officers are out in force this weekend in an attempt to keep motorists safe when they’re on the road. Officers will be looking out for speeders, distracted drivers, impaired drivers, and those who aren’t wearing their seat belts.

In fact, according to Iowa State Patrol Trooper Vince Kurtz, this weekend marks the middle of a two week special enforcement campaign called Click It or Ticket.

The Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau continues to stress to the motoring public the importance of buckling up, slowing down, and the need to drive sober to increase the odds of preventing, or at least surviving, a crash. Buckle up, slow down, and enjoy your Memorial Day Holiday.
