Northwest Iowa — Law officers are out in force from now through the first week of June. It’s part of a special Traffic Enforcement Project or “sTEP”. Local, state, and county law enforcement organizations are advising us that they will be out in increased numbers before, during, and after the Memorial Day holiday next week. In fact, the enforcement period is already underway.
Trooper Kevin Krull, spokesperson for the Iowa State Patrol in our area. He says projects like this are run by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau.
Krull tells us what troopers will be doing.
He says one of the things you can do to help is just to commit to being a safe driver.
Krull has a unique and fun idea to help motorists see motorcycles.
Again, the special enforcement period runs from now through Sunday, June 6th.
