UPDATE: Lyon County Fair Promises To Inform, Entertain

UPDATE:
Rock Rapids, Iowa — The Lyon County Fair in Rock Rapids starts this Sunday afternoon with a gospel concert.

Wes DeGroot is one of the people that organize the fair every year. He tells us that unlike past years, the gospel concert will be in the afternoon.

One of the biggest draws for the fair is the Community Picnic on Monday night, formerly known as the Farmer City Picnic. DeGroot says they’ve got something new to help beat the heat.

He says Tuesday is Kid’s Day at the fair with a lot of activities and special deals for kids. He tells us about a couple of them.

DeGroot says Bob Bohm’s show is a magic show for kids.

DeGroot tells us about the evening activities each night.

He also wanted to make sure that people knew that the tractor pull will start at 6:45 p.m., which is a little unusual — on Thursday night.
