Rock Rapids, Iowa — The past few years, changes have been made at Relay For Life events in northwest Iowa. They used to all be fairly similar and took place outdoors at a track on a weekend evening. But the events are now starting to look different depending on the community fighting cancer.
According to Ronda Arends, one of the people that help organize the relay every year, this year the event in Rock Rapids is going to be different once again.
She says anyone can join them for brunch.
Arends says you can call her at 712-541-7189 to let her know you and/or your group plan on attending, or you can call any board member. Arends says you can also call her if you’d like to buy a dove or butterfly in memory or in honor of a loved one.
Again, the Lyon County American Cancer Society Relay for Life will take the form of a Celebration Brunch at Frontier Bank in Rock Rapids starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, June 17th at the Frontier Bank basement meeting room.
