Man Taken To Hospital After Dirt Bike Accident

Sanborn, Iowa — A Sanborn man was taken to the hospital after a dirt bike accident near Sanborn.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 3:55 PM on Sunday, April 26, 2015, 53-year-old Christopher Klump of Sanborn was driving a 1978 Yamaha dirt bike eastbound in the ditch of 330th Street, a half a mile east of the southeast corner of Sanborn.

The report says that Klump hit a low spot in the ditch near a culvert and lost control of the dirt bike, which ran into a barbed wire fence and wooden fence post. Klump was thrown from the dirt bike into the barbed wire fence. It says he was able to walk about a half mile to his home to call 911.

The Sanborn Ambulance took Klump to Baum Harmon Mercy Hospital in Primghar.

Klump’s Yamaha dirt bike sustained $ 300 in damages.
