Northwest Iowa — Manure pit overflows have been common with the recent flooding — probably more common than is even documented. That’s from the Iowa DNR Spencer Field Office.
Cindy Martens, one of the acting co-directors at the Spencer office says the ones that were reported to the DNR were three in Lyon County, two in Sioux County and one each in Plymouth, O’Brien, and Pocahontas counties.
According to Iowa agriculture officials, more flooding may be on the horizon.
