Sheldon, Iowa — The Coronavirus pandemic has affected the job market nationwide, and many wonder how the job market is in our local area.
Nancy Martens, a representative from Aventure Staffing in Sheldon, took some time to tell us about the state of our local job market.
(as said) “If you go onto Iowa Workforce Development, you go on their website and you see the unemployment rate in Iowa, you will find in this four-county area, in comparison to the rest of the state, has traditionally the lowest unemployment. Right now, we’re under 4% in these four corners, and it might have changed in the last little bit but probably not by much, and so, here the labor markets are pretty tight.”
Martens also says that the only thing that is needed is people to fill job positions, she also says that individuals willing to work will be trained.
(as said) “Not only us as a staffing firm but anybody out there, there are lots of ads, if they’re willing to work and want to work and want to do something different and be there all of us are willing to train and teach, so you don’t have to have the experience onboard. Many here are willing to train and teach these candidates to help them learn new skills.”
Aventure is a staffing firm that assists people and businesses in finding work and workers respectively.
