McDougall And Krogman Are Retiring From Osceola County Extension Council

Sibley, Iowa — On December 31st two members of the Osceola County Extension Council will retire.

Kim McDougall, from Melvin,  and Becky Krogman, from Sibley, will be retiring from the council after serving for 12 years.Regional director with Iowa State University and Outreach in Osceola County Cheryl Heronemus says that in addition to serving on the council both of these ladies have been “strong advocates, active volunteers, and key decision makers for Osceola county and taxpayer dollars.”

Members for the Extension Council are elected to serve for four-year terms and any registered voter can be elected to be a member of the council. Extension Council members should believe in education, understand what people need, and care about the community. They should be able to work with decision makers, build relationships, and help select extension educational opportunities that need addressed locally.

As McDougall and Krogman modeled, according to Heronemus, Extension Council members need to be advocates and residence who link people with life-changing programs.

Newly elected members to the Extension Council for 2023 are Jamie Huls (Sibley), Sarah Loerts (Ocheyedan), and Tim Nappe (Sibley).  The members continuing to serve on the council for 2023 are Chairman Taylor Hibbing (Sibley), Vice Chair Lindsey Helmers (Melvin), Thomas Croatt (Sibley), Justin Nasers (Sibley), Tracy Van Diepen (Ocheyedan), and Angie Van Gelder (Sibley).
