The ups and downs of November will truly be with us this week. Temperatures today will begin to recover from the frigid readings of late, in part due to sunshine which will make its first extended visit in many days. In fact, temperatures by Wednesday and Thursday will actually reach above normal in many locations. This will be short-lived, as another strong front will settle across the area on Friday, bringing a chance for light snow and blustery winds, with temperatures by Saturday again likely to reach only highs in the 20s.
While temperatures will work to warm back above normal mid-week, it will not be close to the warmth experienced on this date in 1999. Widespread readings in the 70s smashed records for the date, many 7 to 10 degrees warmer than the previous record for the date.
