Midwest Medical Transport Leaves Sheldon

Sheldon, Iowa — A company that began operation more than thirty-years ago in Nebraska, and established a base in Sheldon three-years ago, has closed down their Sheldon location.

Midwest Medical Transport Company, a privately-owned medical facility-to-medical facility ambulance company expanded their business into the northwest Iowa area when they opened their facility in Sheldon in early 2016, housing two ambulances and crew to staff one of them, in a building just north of Pizza Ranch in the Runger Addition in eastern Sheldon.

When they came to Sheldon, a company spokesman said they planned to handle facility-to-facility ambulance transfers in an area extending roughly from Spencer on the east to Rock Valley on the west, and from Worthington on the north to Le Mars on the south.

Now, just over three-years later, Midwest Medical Transport has closed their Sheldon facility. The closing was confirmed via email by a spokesman for the company, but multiple attempts to contact the spokesman by phone have been unsuccessful.
