Rock Rapids, Iowa — Earlier this summer, a couple from Minnesota were arrested in Lyon County after deputies allegedly found them in possession of a stolen camper and two stolen snowmobiles. Now, one of the two has accepted a plea bargain in the case.
According to online court records, 35-year old Stephen Martin-Hall had been charged with 1st Degree Theft, 2nd Degree Theft, both felony crimes, as well as 2 counts of Possession of Marijuana, 1st Offense.
Online court records indicate that Martin-Hall appeared in court yesterday (Monday, August 7th), and accepted a plea deal in which he pled guilty to the single count of 2nd Degree Theft, which is a Class D Felony. As a result of the plea agreement, the charge of 1st Degree Theft, and both counts of Possession of Marijuana, 1st Offense, were dismissed.
Court records indicate that Martin-Hall was sentenced to 5-years in prison, with that sentence suspended, and he was ordered to serve 2-years probation, and pay a $750 fine.
The case against Martin-Hall’s companion, 32-year old Traci Cranston is set to proceed. Court records indicate a Pretrial Conference in her case has been set for September 5th.
