Northwest Iowa — Rain and snow chances return to the region this afternoon and evening.
We’ll see periods of rain, snow, and a mix of the two through early Thursday. Snow will be wet and heavy, so will be somewhat difficult to shovel. Accumulations will likely be short lived as temperatures warm through the end of the week.
Cold front moving through today shifts breezy southerly winds this morning to northwesterly. Additionally, a low pressure system moving through the Plains brings the chances for precipitation through mid week. The focus of the precipitation remains east of Highway 81 for most of the event. A mix of rain and/or snow is expected, with minor accumulations. Any accumulation is expected to be short lived, however, as temperatures warm through the end of the week.
