Rock Valley, Iowa — Miss Rock Valley and Little Miss Rock Valley were crowned on Wednesday night, August 10th.
Miss Rock Valley 2016 is Erin De Kam, daughter of Rod and Twila De Kam. Five young ladies vied for the title.
Little Miss Rock Valley 2016 is Taya Greene, daughter of Katie Greene. Greene’s name was chosen randomly from the names of eleven little girls who wanted to be Little Miss Rock Valley.
The festivities at Rally in the Valley in Rock Valley continue this Friday. At noon, there’s the Hegg Memorial Golf Tournament. At 6:30, it’s Cruise Night. Also at 6:30 there’s food on Main Street. It’s a fundraiser for Project Youth. They’ll have hot dogs, popcorn, and cotton candy.
The big event of the evening is the street dance, starting at 9 PM. It’ll be out front of Koldy’s on the street. You have to be 21 or over. The dance will feature the Rude Band from Sioux Falls. A $10 cover charge will be collected. It’s presented by American Specialized.
