There will a lot of clouds to start the day but they will gradually move east allowing mostly sunny skies this afternoon. It will still be cool with higher around 70. Then expect a warming trend into the weekend with partly to mostly sunny skies and temperatures warming into the 80s by Sunday. There will be a small chance for thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and evening – primarily east of I-29.
Moderate to record flooding is occurring on several rivers including the James, Big Sioux, Split Rock Creek, and Rock Rivers. Minor flooding was occurring on the Redwood River. Split Rock Creek is cresting early this morning at a record stage. All other rivers are rising with crests expected from later today into the weekend. Many roads are closed so check 5-1-1 or safetravelusa.com road closures before you head out this morning.
