Clay County, Iowa — A mother who allegedly kidnapped her three daughters in Royal in September — prompting the issuance of an AMBER Alert — has pled not guilty.
Clay County Chief Deputy Zach Larsen says the three girls were located in good condition in Sanborn the same night they were allegedly taken.
Deputy Larsen says the girls’ mother, 25-year old Danica Arzaga, was the subject of a search that ended when she was taken into custody in Woodbury County the next afternoon. Arzaga faces three counts of Kidnapping in the Third Degree, all Class “C” Felonies.
According to court records, Arzaga was scheduled for arraignment this Monday but has instead filed a written arraignment and plea of “not guilty.” He pretrial conference has been set for November 14th and her trial for December 12th.
