Spencer, Iowa — Spencer is home this year to a national event dealing with trapping.
The National Trappers Association is holding its 62nd Annual Convention through Saturday at the Clay County Fairgrounds in Spencer.
Saturday’s events include presentations dealing with canines, predators, government predator trapping, and protecting the trapping sport. Other presentations have dealt with raccoons, muskrats, trap collecting, minks, trap anatomy, cable restraints, beavers, turtles, invasive species, fur handling, and more.
The presenters have come from many states in the United States, including Iowa, Ohio, Mississippi, Wisconsin, Tennesee, Pennsylvania, Florida, South Dakota, Missouri, Texas, Nevada, Michigan, and Nebraska.
There will also be an antler auction this Saturday morning, July 24th at 10:00 a.m. at the Stables.
