Sheldon, Iowa — A Northwest Iowa Community College employee has been named as a director for a national organization.
Officials with NCC tell us their Director of Marketing and Communications, Kristin Kollbaum, has been named as the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations District 5 Director for the organization. The District Director position is a voluntary two-year term.
They tell us the council is the only organization of its kind that exclusively represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges. As one of the fastest-growing affiliates of the American Association of Community Colleges, the council has more than 1,700 members from nearly 650 colleges across the United States and Canada.
Kollbaum says it is a privilege and honor for her to represent District 5. She says she has been involved with the council for almost 17 years and she has loved every minute of it. She says, “I believe the professional development that has been offered to me through this great organization has helped shape me into the marketer and leader I am today. I have met some of the best people in the business through participation in the council.” She says that colleagues have helped her through both the great times and the times of growth that inevitably come with her profession. She continues, “I only hope to continue to nurture the District 5 culture that has been built by all the great district leaders that have served before me.”
The council’s District 5 covers Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the Canadian province of Manitoba.
