Sheldon, Iowa — Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon has some non-credit training offerings from the workforce & development division coming up.
NCC’s Coordinator of Continuing Education, Kalie Krueger, tells us that they will be offering Microsoft Office Skills for the Workplace.
She says beginner and intermediate-level Word and Excel will be taught. The program will be taught on Thursdays from February 15th through May 2 from 1 to 4 p.m. No credits will be awarded, but a non-credit certificate will be given to those who complete the course. The cost is $849, but tuition assistance is available to make it nearly free if you qualify. NCC officials tell us it’s great for someone transitioning careers or feeling like their skills are lacking.
Kruger says if you want, you can break the bundle and do ONLY Word or ONLY Excel.
Meanwhile, she says they’re also going to be offering a similar non-credit course called Introduction to Manufacturing, which starts this Tuesday, January 30th, and will focus on welding.
She says it’s a great way to help you decide if this sort of job is for you. She says this class also has the potential to be nearly free if you qualify.
Kruger made her comments while on the Daily Grind program with Mark Buss on our fellow Community First Broadcasting station KSOU in Sioux Center.
