New Law Requires Photo ID To Vote

O’Brien County, Iowa — A new law that went into effect January 1st requires that voters show a photo ID at the polls before casting their vote.

O’Brien County Auditor Barb Rohwer says requiring a photo ID in order to vote had previously not been allowed.

We asked Rohwer how the new law would affect people who are registered to vote, but don’t have a driver’s license or photo ID.

So, when you head out to vote in the 2018 elections in Iowa be prepared to have your driver’s license, photo ID, or the card you recently received from the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office scanned before you’ll be allowed to cast your ballot.
