O’Brien County Career Day For Sophomores Is Thursday

O’Brien County, Iowa — The high schools in O’Brien County, along with the Sheldon Chamber and Development Corporation, the O’Brien County Economic Development Corporation, Northwest Iowa Community College, Iowa State University Extension & Outreach, and several O’Brien County businesses are participating in the Second Annual O’Brien County Career Day For Sophomores this Thursday, April 19th.

O’Brien County Economic Development Director Kiana Johnson tells us the goal behind the career day.

She says that by targeting high school sophomores the group is more apt to reach students who have yet to firm up their plans for after high school. She tells us what happens during career day.

Steven Brockshus will be the featured speaker at 12:40 p.m. Brockshus is a 2011 Sibley-Ocheyedan graduate who served as a State FFA Officer, Iowa FFA State President, and in 2013 was elected as the National FFA Vice President.
