O’Brien County Drug Dog Takes Home Honors

Primghar, Iowa — A northwest Iowa working dog has received some high honors.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says that their drug dog, Ella and her handler, Deputy Lee Reuvers went to Camp Ripley, MN last week to participate in the Midwest Canine Alternatives K9 Trials and came back with some “hardware.” Deputy Reuvers tells us more.

The deputy tells us about his dog.

Deputy Reuvers tells us that Ella has an interesting and somewhat ironic past.

He says after she became certified, she joined the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office and has been with them ever since.

He says the dog is pretty laid-back but loves to work.

Sheriff’s Office personnel and we at KIWA congratulate Deputy Reuvers and Ella on a job well done.
