O’Brien County Hires Former Clay County Engineer; Will Start Monday

Primghar, Iowa — The O’Brien County Board of Supervisors has hired someone to fill the vacant county engineer position.

According to Barb Rohwer, O’Brien County Auditor, the search for a new engineer has come to a close. She tells us about it.


Rohwer tells us the history of the engineer’s office for the past six years, since former engineer Steve Struble took another job in Indianola in 2012.


There really has been a lot of cooperation among the engineers’ offices of the four northwest Iowa counties, with O’Brien County sharing their engineer with other counties when needed and other counties sharing theirs with each other and O’Brien County when needed as well as various engineers come and go for various reasons.
