O’Brien County Sportsmen’s Banquet Is Saturday

Sheldon, Iowa — The O’Brien County Sportsmen’s Club will hold their annual banquet this Saturday night (March 27th) at the Crossroads Pavilion Events Center in Sheldon.

Sportsmen’s Club President John Farrell says Saturday night’s festivities will include a banquet, auctions, games, and giveaways, and will feature something for everyone.

(as said) “Doors open at 5:00, and we’ll have games for the kids and we’ll follow up a ribeye supper with an auction. We’ve got everything from prints and guns to an angel food cake on our auction this year. So I hope everybody will come out and help support the club.”

The steaks will be grilled by the O’Brien County Cattlemen, and the sides will be from Hy-Vee Catering, according to Farrell.

The event is a fundraiser, as well as just a good time. Farrell tells us where the proceeds go.

(as said) “The majority of our money that we raise goes to help buy more public ground in O’Brien County. But we also support like the NCC shooting team and a few other local area FFA or 4-H shooting teams. And we also give money for the annual youth pheasant hunt that’s put on by the conservation board and a few other little projectw here and there, and we maintain two shooting ranges in the county.”

For tickets, you can call a Sportsmen’s Club board member, you can call Farrell at 712-261-5681, or you can send them a message from their Facebook page.
