Orab High School Musicians Audition, Middle School Musicians Perform On Saturday

Sheldon, Iowa — Several Sheldon High School musicians will be on the road bright and early Saturday, heading for Storm Lake, and auditions for the Northwest Iowa Bandmasters Association Honor Band Concert, which will be held in January.

Sheldon High School Band Director Cliff St. Clair tells us about the audition process.

We asked St. Clair when his students would find out if they were accepted to the Honor Band.

He tells us what those musicians selected have in store for them on January 5th.

St. Clair says Saturday’s auditions will begin at 8:30 am, and will be held at the Storm Lake Middle School. The High School Honor Band Concert will be performed Saturday, January 5th at Morningside College in Sioux City.

The same day that Sheldon High School musicians are auditioning for the High School Honor Band, six Orab middle schoolers will be performing in the Northwest Iowa Bandmasters Association Middle School Honor Band Concert.

Middle School Band Director Jeana Larson tells us about her six students who were selected during auditions last month.

The Middle School Honor Band Concert will be performed Saturday evening at 6:00 pm at Storm Lake High School.
