Orange City, Iowa — A northwest Iowa banking company based in Orange City has received a regional honor.
The Board of Directors of the Siouxland Economic Development Corporation or SEDC says Iowa State Bank is their Lender of the Year.
They tell us the annual award is given to commercial lenders in the Siouxland area who have demonstrated a high regard for customer service and have “successfully, consistently, and creatively utilized the SBA 504 Loan Program and SEDC Revolving Loan Fund Program (RLF) to further economic development in Siouxland.”
Leroy Van Kekerix is the President of Iowa State Bank, and fills us in.
Dusty Small is the Chairperson of the SEDC Board of Directors. He says that the Lender of the Year award was created to recognize outstanding performance by private lenders. He says that the commercial lenders at Iowa State Bank have proven more than once that they are valued small business advocates committed to economic development in Siouxland.
Three Iowa State Bank lenders are being specifically recognized for their most significant use of the SBA 504 loan program and SEDC Revolving Loan Fund program. These lenders are Nathan Van Gorp, Scott Jones, and Mark Kleinwolterink. They were selected for specific projects totaling more than $14.6 million with Iowa State Bank financing of $8.2 million and SEDC/SBA 504 financing of $3.9 million. The SEDC says these projects created and retained 70 jobs.

The Siouxland Economic Development Corporation will host an invitation-only reception at the Crossroads Pavillion Event Center in Sheldon on Monday, September 9th to formally present the 2018/19 Lender of the Year Award to Nathan Van Gorp, Scott Jones, Mark Kleinwolterink, and Iowa State Bank.
