People Give $720 To Sheldon United Fund In The Past Seven Days

Sheldon, Iowa — Because the Sheldon United Fund started off with a great first full week, donations are still on pace to meet the goal by the end of the year. But if the current level of giving doesn’t improve, it will be hard to make that goal.

The drive continues through the rest of the year. The goal this year is $30,000.

The fund drive is now 34% finished. The funds are at about 42% of goal, at $12,453. Over $17,500 has yet to be raised. To finish on goal, the drive now needs to average about $2000 per week through the rest of the year. In the last week, donors gave $720. The giving is not even, however. It often picks up around Christmas, and people sometimes use their donation as a last-minute tax writeoff, so the last few days are often great days for the drive.
