Possible Child Abduction Attempt In Everly

ClaySheriff DinkyEverly, Iowa — Clay County authorities are investigating the report of a possible attempted child abduction Thursday morning, April 6th, in Everly.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, about 9:10 Thursday morning a 13-year old girl was approached on her way to school by an unknown male driving a 4-door pickup truck.  Deputies say the man tried convincing the child to let him give her a ride to school.  They say the man was confronted by an unknown adult woman, who drove up behind the truck and told the man to leave the girl alone.  Authorities say the man then drove away.  The girl was not injured in the incident, according to authorities.

Clay County authorities are now looking for a white male in his mid to late 30’s with a stocky build,red hair and a goatee.  The man’s vehicle is described as an approximately 2010 Dodge Ram 1500, 4-door pickup with silver running boards.
