Presidential Candidate Ramaswamy Visits Northwest Iowa

Rock Rapids, Iowa — Republican Presidential Candidate Vivek Ramaswamy was campaigning in Northwest Iowa on Monday.

According to the Des Moines Register, Ramaswamy is tied for fifth in polling in the state with former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Ahead of him in the polls are former President Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former U.S. ambassador Nikki Haley, and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott.

As part of his opening remarks at a town hall in Rock Rapids, he said he believes that there is a war currently going on in the United States.


Ramaswamy says free speech is key to healthy democracy.


Ramaswamy believes that being from a new generation separates him from others in the race.


When asked about his Hindu beliefs, Ramaswamy says that the office of president isn’t the office of pastor.


Ramaswamy says the third president Thomas Jefferson wasn’t a Christian either.


Ramaswamy believes that the United States still has its best days ahead.


Along with Rock Rapids, Ramaswamy also made stops in Sioux Center, LeMars, and Sioux City on Monday. If elected, the 38-year-old Ramaswamy would become the youngest president in the history of the United States.
