Primghar Man Charged With Burglary, Assault After Calumet Incident

Calumet, Iowa — A Primghar man faces a felony burglary charge and a misdemeanor assault charge following his arrest on a warrant charging those crimes.

Court records indicate that 21-year old Jesse Draven Christopherson is accused of entering a Calumet residence on November 9th, while carrying a muffler and exhaust pipe. Christopherson is accused of striking a man in that residence with the exhaust pipe, leaving a gash in the victim’s forehead, above his right eye.

The charge of 1st Degree Burglary, a Class B Felony, reportedly stems from Christepherson’s alleged entry into the property while someone was present, and accuses him of “intentionally and recklessly inflicting bodily injury” on the victim.

The other charge against Christopherson alleges that he assaulted the alleged victim during the commission of the 1st Degree Burglary. The Assault Causing Bodily Injury or Mental Illness charge is a Serious Misdemeanor.

The case was investigated by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, O’Brien County deputies arrested Christopherson in the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 21st, according to the Sheriff’s Office Arrest Log.
