Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon veterinary center has been working for the past few years to help try and control the population of stray cats in town. The Sheldon Veterinary Medical Center has established a program called Trap-Neuter-Release to help keep the situation under control.
Dr. Sandy Schmith tells us about the clinic’s Trap-Neuter-Release program.
Dr. Schmith says the problem lies in the fact that these feral cats produce more feral cats.
She tells us how the Trap-Neuter-Release program works.
Dr. Schmith says the program recently reached a milestone.
She says the Trap-Neuter-Release program is funded completely through donations from the community.
She says donations are always welcome, and may be dropped off at the Sheldon Veterinary Medical Center, which is located across Highway 18 from the Sheldon High School.
Dr. Schmith urges you to help control the pet population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
