Prom Season Is Here

Northwest Iowa — It’s that time of the year when high school students are shopping for dresses and making arrangements for Prom.

Leah Lupkes, the Central Lyon Secretary, tells us their Prom is Friday, April 21st at 6:30 p.m. in the high school gym and the theme is “A Night Under the Stars”. She says there will be a five-dollar admission fee.

Hannah Martin, a teacher at Sheldon High School, tells us that the theme of Sheldon’s Prom this year is “Lost in Space”.  She says Prom is Saturday, April 22nd, and Grand March begins at the high school at 6:15 p.m. The dance and dinner will be at the Crossroads Pavilion Events Center, which will follow Grand March.

Amber DenHartog, George/Little Rock High School Secretary, says their Prom will be Saturday, April 22nd at 7 p.m. and the theme this year will be “70’s Disco”. The Prom will take place in the school gym.

Pam Jeltema, MOC/FV High School Secretary, says their Prom theme is still a secret because they have yet to send out invitations to their Seniors. She does tell us that Prom will be on Saturday, April 29th. The Grand March will be at the high school at 7 p.m. with the dance following at the Prairie Winds Events Center in Orange City. There will a banquet at the Events Center before the Grand March at 6 p.m.

According to Meggan Block, Sibley-Ocheyedan’s Work Skills teacher, they had their Prom last Saturday, April 15th. She says the theme was “Enchanted Forest”. The Grand March was at the school gym, followed by a dinner at the Presbyterian Church. The dance was after dinner at the school gym.
