RAGBRAI 50 Will Start In Sioux City

Des Moines, Iowa — RAGBRAI 50 won’t get to our neck of the woods, but the route isn’t too far away from us either, and it does start in northwest Iowa.

The towns were announced for the 50th annual bike ride across the state of Iowa on Saturday night, January 28th at the Iowa Events Center. The golden RAGBRAI riders will dip their back tires in the Missouri River in Sioux City on Sunday morning, July 23rd, 2023, and will dip their front tires in the Mississippi River in Davenport on Saturday, July 29th. Some larger towns were chosen for the route this year. The overnight towns in-between will be Storm Lake, Carroll, Ames, Des Moines, Tama-Toledo, and Coralville. The official route and pass-through towns will be announced at a later date.

Billed as the oldest, largest, and longest week-long bicycle touring event in the world, riders say RAGBRAI is part bike ride, part rolling party, and all an adventure.
