Ribbon Cut On New Sheldon Kwik Star Store

Sheldon, Iowa — The ribbon was cut Tuesday afternoon on a Sheldon business that opened for the first time last Thursday.

Several Sheldon businesspeople and citizens were on hand Tuesday afternoon when the ribbon was cut on Sheldon’s newest business, the Kwik Star store, which is located on the former Shopko site on Highway 18.

Prior to the Ribbon Cutting, Kwik Star Team Leader Dane Hanson presented a $1,000 donation to the Sheldon Community Schools and to the Sheldon Rec Department on behalf of Kwik Star.

Sheldon Development Director Curt Strouth gave a nod to those donations when he spoke for the Ribbon Cutting.

Mayor Greg Geels spoke on behalf of the City of Sheldon, and echoed Strouth’s sentiment.

Speaking on behalf of the Chamber Ambassadors was Ambassadors President Skip Tanner.

Kwik Star Team Leader Dane Hanson talked about Kwik Star’s hot food program.

He says all of the store’s sweet goods are baked fresh and delivered daily.

Hanson talked about the daily specials throughout their Grand Opening Week this week.

Sheldon’s Kwik Star is open from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm, with the fuel pumps available 24/7. Hanson says the store will be open 24/7 as soon as he can get staff in place.
