UPDATE: RiseFest Announces 2018 Dates

Sheldon, Iowa — Earlier we told you that RiseFest, the Christian music festival held each summer in Sheldon, had contemplated changing the dates for the 2018 festival, due to inclement weather for three of the last four years during the festival.  Now Rise Ministries, the organization behind RiseFest, has announced the dates for their 2018 festival.

In a press release Friday morning, Rise Ministries founder and president Rob Roozeboom says the 2018 RiseFest will remain centered around Father’s Day weekend, and the dates are set for Friday, June 15th, and Saturday, June 16th.

Roozeboom says that, after many conversations, prayers, and thoughts, it was decided to keep RiseFest on Father’s Day weekend. He says they tried to find a date that would limit the chance of severe weather given the last few years. But, he says, the more they continued the conversation, the more they realized it was going to be very difficult, with so many other great events throughout the region, to find another a date that would work.

Roozeboom says he’s excited to keep the Father’s Day tradition going, and kick off the summer with the festival. He says they will continue to pray for good weather for Father’s Day weekend 2018, June 15th and 16th.

Sheldon, Iowa — The exact dates for RiseFest 2018, the Christian music festival held each summer in Sheldon, will be announced next week, according to Rob Roozeboom, the founder and president of Rise Ministries, the group behind RiseFest.

Traditionally, the festival has been held Father’s Day weekend each year, but after rain falling on the festival three out of the past four years, talk has come up about moving the event to another date during the summer.

Roozeboom says people have been wondering about the reason for the delay in announcing the RiseFest 2018 dates.

He talks about some of the things that need to be taken into account before deciding on a date for the festival.

In other RiseFest news, Roozeboom says the final attendance figures for the 2017 festival are even higher than he had at first thought.

He says the revised 2017 totals made this year’s festival, by far, the biggest RiseFest ever.
