Boyden, Iowa — A Boyden man was arrested earlier this week by Sioux County authorities, on Felony Forgery and Identity Theft, along with other charges.
Sioux County Chief Deputy Nate Huizenga says the charges against 31-year old Leonel Marcelo-Dimas stem from an investigation that began in April of this year. Huizenga tells KIWA that the investigation revealed Marcelo-Dimas had been using someone else’s identity to gain employment at Natural Beauty Growers in Boyden.
According to Huizenga, a warrant had been issued for Marcelo-Dimas’ arrest, when Sioux County authorities discovered that he was being held in the Osceola County Jail, on charges in that county. Huizenga says Sioux County deputies retrieved Marcelo-Dimas from the jail in Sibley, and returned him to the Sioux County Jail.
According to jail records, Marcelo-Dimas faces charges of Identity Theft and Forgery, both Class D Felonies, along with five counts of Failure To Appear in court.
At last report, Marcelo-Dimas was being held in the Sioux County Jail in lieu of a $15, 500 bond.
