Sioux Center, Iowa (Sioux County Radio) — Community First Broadcasting staff had a chance recently to talk to Democratic Iowa gubernatorial candidate Julie Stouch.
Stauch is an organizational consultant and former campaign manager who announced her candidacy in June 2025. She is the president and CEO of Julie Stauch & Associates, an organizational consulting firm that works with nonprofit organizations, candidates, and elected officials on strategic planning, communications, and coalition building.
Stauch says she’s treating the campaign like a job interview with Iowans.
She says those listening sessions have shaped what she hears from voters and that they’ve included Republicans, independents, and Democrats.
Stauch says health care access has been one of the most consistent concerns she hears.
Stauch says northwest Iowa residents raise many of the same issues as the rest of the state.
She also points to rising cancer rates as a major statewide issue.
Stauch says her campaign is focused on listening first, with her policy positions shaped by what she hears from voters across the state.
