Rock Valley, Iowa — There was no foul play involved with a fire that destroyed what was to have been a $6.5 million senior living facility in Rock Valley — that’s from the president of the board of investors of the RiverView Ridge Senior Living Center.
Todd Van Tol tells us, however, that they still don’t know exactly how it started.
He says the investigation found the fire started between the first and second floors above the mechanical room. He says while the investigation continues, they won’t be getting any more clues from the building.
Van Tol gives us an idea of what’s going on at this time. At last check, the plan was to rebuild.
The fire was on July 2nd, just two weeks before the facility was scheduled to open. And while the fire sprinkler system had been installed, it was not hooked up yet at the time of the fire.
