Sanborn, Iowa — An area school will be celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2017, and the folks at Sanborn Christian School are launching the lead-up to their centennial celebration with a special event in the Sanborn City Park this Wednesday, July 20th.
Erin Olson, of the Sanborn Christian School Centennial Committee, tells us about Wednesday evening’s festivities.
Olson says that, despite the heat predicted in Wednesday’s forecast, there will be ways to keep cool.
In addition to the pulled pork sandwiches, home-grown sweetcorn, and watermelon they’ll be serving, she says there will be an opportunity to begin collecting centennial memorabilia, as well.
She says Wednesday’s sweet corn feed is just the first of many activities leading up to the Centennial Celebration next July.
Wednesday’s 100th Anniversary Sweet Corn Feed kickoff will be served from 5:00 to 7:30 Wednesday evening in the Sanborn City Park, located on the south side of Highway 18 in Sanborn.
