Sioux Falls, South Dakota — Breast cancer remains the second leading cause of cancer death for women in the US. Early detection makes it easier to treat. But what is the best method to screen women for the disease?
Sanford Health is partnering with other health systems to find out.
The nationwide clinical study wants to answer the question of how to best detect and prevent breast cancer. Lora Black from Sanford Health says they are trying to discover a roadmap for how to take care of each individual woman. Black says it’s very important to be able to include women from rural areas in the study because there is a difference in lifestyle from more urban areas.
