SCAT Files Annual Report For 2021

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Community Ambulance Team, or SCAT, has filed their annual report for 2021.

According to SCAT Director Krysten Haan, SCAT had a total of 27 members as of December 31, 2021. That total is comprised of: 6 RN/Medics/AEMTs; 13 EMTs; 3 Drivers; 4 EMT/RN Students; and 1 high school student.

During 2021, SCAT responded to a total of 482 9-1-1 calls and 229 transfer calls that came from Sanford Sheldon, or any other area hospital. Those numbers were down slightly from the year before, when SCAT responded to a total of 516 9-1-1 calls and 229 transfer calls.

During 2021, SCAT had an average response time from the time of the page to going enroute to the scene of 5.58 minutes. On-scene time for medical 9-1-1 calls averaged 15.15 minutes. On-scene time for 9-1-1 trauma calls averaged 15.87 minutes.
